V30: A Welcoming First Launch, PDF Redaction, and Drag-and-Drop Merge
Start with what you came for. Redact a PDF for good. Merge by dragging. V30 is here.
Thirty releases. Thirty consecutive Fridays. V30 opens with a new welcome screen that asks what you want to do first and points you straight at it, with audio and PDF starting points built in. After an operation finishes, workspace-discovery cards suggest a sensible next step and an inline tutorial player shows you how. A new destructive PDF redactor permanently removes the content underneath, then verifies the redaction held before saving. PDF merge now works by dragging files into order. The read-only Word viewer gains find-in-page search, and DOCX rendering now honors run and paragraph shading, indents, and table cell shading. The video editor canvas gets aspect-ratio setup, fit modes, mask feathering, and crop aspect ratios. Data tables get an Excel-style row-number gutter with Cmd+A select-all. The code editor opens LaTeX research files, and the macOS Discover menu adds Audio Tips and PDF Tips. Under the hood, the text and code previews are unified on a single virtualized renderer with built-in find, so previews open faster and search works the same everywhere. Plus a long list of fixes: blank code and text previews, .opus files now treated as audio, Enter advancing to the next find match, markdown previews no longer showing a stray code-block language header, and more.
What's New in V30
A Welcoming First Launch
Open Diwadi for the first time and a welcome screen asks what you want to do, with audio and PDF starting points ready to go. After an operation finishes, discovery cards suggest a sensible next step and an inline tutorial player shows you how -- so you learn features as you work instead of hunting for them.
Destructive PDF Redaction
The new PDF redactor permanently removes the text and images underneath a redaction -- not just covering them with a black box. Before saving, Diwadi verifies the redaction actually held, so sensitive content can't leak back out by being copied or searched in the exported file.
Drag-and-Drop PDF Merge
Merging PDFs now works by dragging. Drop your files into the order you want, rearrange them with a drag, and combine -- no fiddly add buttons or reorder dialogs. Everything happens on your device.
Find-in-Page for Word Documents
The read-only Word viewer now has find-in-page search, so you can jump straight to a phrase in a long document. DOCX rendering also got richer -- run and paragraph shading, indents, and table cell shading now display the way they do in Word.
