V29: Smarter PDF Compression, Generate Subtitles, and a Lossless PPTX Round-Trip
Compress PDFs without losing quality. Burn captions in. Save PowerPoint without losing a thing. V29 is here.
Twenty-nine releases. Twenty-nine consecutive Fridays. V29 ships a smarter PDF compressor with a lossless High tier that preserves quality, keeps encryption intact, and can be cancelled mid-flight. A new Generate Subtitles tool turns any video into a captioned video with customizable burned-in styling. PowerPoint export gets a lossless round-trip with native chart and table writers, image and video preservation, per-selection text formatting, and per-paragraph bullets and indents. Upload-signature mode lets you place a transparent signature on a PDF with alpha-correct stamping. The DOCX editor gets an inline-editable header. The CSV data-table editor gets an add-row button. Activity-backed project save with undo-driven dirty detection means you never lose work or get a stale dirty indicator. Per-operation result chips on activity cards show exactly what happened. Plus iPhone HEVC MOV plays directly without forcing Quick Convert, surveillance video formats now work, video transcription is filed under Video, the 3D mockup uses synced rotate and zoom sliders, cloud OCR shows friendly errors, image-export shape rotation and borders render correctly, the clipboard handles cut and large-document paste cleanly, and editor keyboard shortcuts no longer get swallowed by panes.
What's New in V29
Smarter PDF Compression
PDF compression now has a lossless High tier that preserves visual quality, keeps any existing encryption intact, and supports an opt-in active-content stripping pass for tighter output. You can also cancel a compression mid-run -- no more waiting for a stuck file to finish before you can move on.
Generate Subtitles for Video
A new Generate Subtitles tool transcribes a video and burns the captions directly into the picture, with customizable styling so the result matches your brand. Output plays anywhere, with no separate sidecar file to manage.
Lossless PowerPoint Round-Trip
PowerPoint export now round-trips losslessly. Images and video survive intact, charts and tables use native writers, text formatting is preserved per selection, and bullets and indents are preserved per paragraph. Slide-level edits save without re-encoding, and typed text always survives a save.
Upload Signature with Alpha Stamping
A new upload-signature mode lets you bring your own signature image into the PDF signer. Diwadi stamps it onto the page with alpha-correct rendering, so a transparent signature stays transparent against the document underneath.
